The ANU Medical School took its first intake of students in 2004 but was built on the foundation of the Canberra Clinical School (part of Sydney University) and the John Curtin School of Medical Research. It is a postgraduate school with a four-year course enrolling approximately 80 students per cohort although this has recently been increased to 100.
