GPSN National Committee members travelled to McLaren Vale, South Australia last month for their first national planning meeting of 2026.
The meeting coincided with General Practice Registrars Australia’s (GPRA) 25th anniversary celebrations, bringing together leaders from across general practice, medical education and the primary health sector to reflect on the future of the profession.
During the weekend, GPSN student leaders also participated in a roundtable discussion with university Heads of Department of General Practice, hosted by GPRA President Dr Chris Dickie. The session explored how universities and GPSN clubs can work more closely together to strengthen general practice education and student engagement.
Key discussions included improving exposure to general practice during medical school, supporting positive supervision experiences, and building stronger connections between universities and GPSN clubs.
